  • Brings New Perspective to Evidence

Dr. Chapa provides a refreshing perspective on the ObGyn literature. I don’t always agree with his politics or interpretation, but it’s a valuable perspective that doesn’t toe the party line with ACOG. He focuses on the medical literature and makes it engaging for learners and practicing physicians alike. Keep up the great work!

  • Creeper

Total misogynistic creeper. Some of his anecdotes are SO anti-woman and harmful. Talking about people being hot, excuses his sexist comments as “just my generation” is absurd. Do not recommend. I think he’s planning a run for political office and trying to play right into the Republican demographic. Listen with caution, or better yet, get a better source than him.

Vaginal GSpot Injection: Again?
Q: What does the study actually show about PRP for sexual function?
The study shows a modest, non-significant trend toward improved FSFI scores with PRP versus control, in a small sample of 26 per group, suggesting potential signals but not definitive evidence.
BOGO! (With Hanna, PGY1)
Q: Do we give MAG in normotensive HELLP patients?
Yes, MAG is used because these patients can have brain vasculopathy and seizure risk even if blood pressures are not severely elevated.
BOGO! (With Hanna, PGY1)
Q: The first has to do with HELLP because we have a patient with HELLP. Hanna, what does HELLP stand for?
Hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets.
Alex’s Input: Aspirin’s Awkward Acumen
Q: But the January 2026 RCT in Green Journal showed no difference between 162 mg and 81 mg—how do you reconcile these findings?
The difference likely stems from population design (universal vs high-risk selection) and power. Universal dosing captures effects in a broader population, potentially revealing benefit that selective high-risk trials miss, while the high-risk-only design may dilute the observed effect if many participants do not derive the benefit.
You Ask, We Answer!
Q: Is it still considered a uterine rupture if the myometrium and cirrhosa are open but the baby is still in the cavity?
Yes, it's referred to as a partial or silent uterine rupture, which is asymptomatic and should be repaired.
