  • Go Back to Old Chapa please!

I used to love this podcast and depend on it to stay up to date on emerging evidence. Now I cannot stomach listening to him inserting his personal beliefs and biases. Bring back old Chapa

  • Homophobic, transphobic, anti-reproductive choice and justice.

An embarrassment to our field, the lack of insight, knowledge and compassion is staggering. Please don’t let this man miseducate you into a handmaid’s tale future.

  • Disappointed

Dr. Chapa is anti choices, trans/homophobic. This is not aligned with the American College of OBGYN. This causes him to lose all credibility in my opinion.

  • Yikes

Chapa’s medical knowledge is completely overshadowed by his hateful beliefs. His homophobia, transphobia, and anti-abortion rhetoric is dangerously and has no role in medical education.

  • Not always accurate

Initially really enjoyed the podcast. Had to unfollow because of inaccurate information and a sudden increase of obviously biased data and presentation.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

2026 Lp(a), AHA, and OBG: What Now?
Q: Should lipoprotein A be checked after it's found elevated in a patient who wants to get pregnant or use contraception?
There is no formal guidance mandating repeat lipoprotein A testing; it may be reasonable to monitor over time for general risk assessment, but decisions about contraception or pregnancy planning should primarily follow existing CDC/SMFM/MEC guidelines and consider the overall risk profile rather than lipoprotein A alone.
The “20-minute” Rule for VAVD: 2026 Data
Q: What is the practical takeaway for new graduates regarding the 20-minute rule and vacuum delivery timing?
Focus on three things: confirm fetal head orientation, assess whether delivery can realistically occur within a short time frame, and communicate clearly with the team about when the clock starts and what the target is, aiming for delivery well under 20 minutes from first application.
NIPT CONFIRM Test SPECIAL GUEST: Blurring the Line between Screening & Confirmation of Fetal Aneuploidy
Q: What exactly is UnityConfirm able to do, and how does it relate to existing screening like cell-free DNA?
The test uses circulating trophoblasts to provide fetal genomic information, offering a confirmation step to validate screen results while acknowledging it does not replace invasive tests like amniocentesis or CVS.
NIPT CONFIRM Test SPECIAL GUEST: Blurring the Line between Screening & Confirmation of Fetal Aneuploidy
Q: What is going on with this technology, in a nutshell?
Jen explains UnityConfirm as a non-invasive test that isolates intact trophoblast cells from maternal blood to confirm whether a screen for fetal aneuploidy is accurate, positioning it as a reflex test after a high-risk screen rather than a primary test.
Home Self-Check Urine Protein for gHTN?
Q: Should patients check their urine protein at home for gestational hypertension?
No. The host explains that home urine protein dipstick testing is not recommended due to imprecision and hydration-related variability; appropriate management relies on in-clinic quantitative tests (protein-to-creatinine ratio or 24-hour urine) and weekly surveillance as guided by Practice Bulletin 222.
