Reviews

4.3 out of 5 stars from 12 ratings
  • I need help, not school girl giggling

Nuggets of helpful tips are tucked in these shows but, sadly, with my Dad’s recent diagnosis, I’m not at the “levity” stage right now. I’m glad the hosts seem to enjoy working together though, good for them. This isn’t for me.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Home and Vehicle Modifications with Emily McAndrews
Q: How can caregivers finance these modifications?
Caregivers should explore Pathways for Aging waivers, health and wellness waivers, and related Indiana funding; caregivers should also engage with the service coordinator or care manager to identify eligible options and ensure orders can be submitted to providers through regular insurance channels.
Home and Vehicle Modifications with Emily McAndrews
Q: What kinds of vehicle modifications are available beyond a traditional lift or ramp?
Beyond lifts, there are transfer bars, lowerable vans, and full conversions that let a person roll into the back and latch into a chair, with infrastructure adjusted inside the vehicle to accommodate their equipment.
Brain Health Month with Dr. Kent Berry
Q: What is a neuropsychological evaluation and who is it designed to help?
A neuropsychological evaluation involves a detailed intake, a battery of cognitive tests, and a collaborative plan to identify the causes of cognitive changes, helping determine what is normal aging versus concerning changes and guiding treatment.
The Truth About Organ Donation with Erin Brown
Q: How do you help people see donation as part of their legacy and not just a medical decision?
We emphasize stories from advocates who share donor and recipient experiences, show how donation enables life milestones like weddings and parenting, and use classroom and community presentations to connect the impact of donation to real people, making the idea part of a meaningful legacy rather than a clinical choice.
Stroke and the Spouse with Lana Wilhelm
Q: What practical advice do you offer to families facing a loved one's stroke?
She emphasizes practical tips like managing expectations, seeking information, forming support networks, and building resources that address both emotional and logistical needs beyond immediate medical care.
