  • Irish goodbye

You describe in beginning, accurately i think, how the guy sold property to be built like a broker. Thats normal. but then you go on later to say he sold units he didn’t own. Thats correct, a broker doesn’t own the property, he finds buyers for an owner, like a developer. And it makes sense to me that the US caused world wide crash in ‘08 would have been a big problem. Now if he just took the money from investors for himself, and never invested in the project, that is illegal. But he was never... more

  • Boring cop worship

Gave it a shot, but the persistent cop worship was just too much to stomach, and it felt pretty thinly crafted to me.

  • Good

Good, but some of the episodes like The Stupendous Shirley S., the Mayor of Madison Avenue, Irish Goodbye, and Missing Helen: Part 2 are a little confusing. I’m so confused on Missing Helen: Part 2 because the person who stole Ms. Helen it seems like they stole it from the aquarium they used to own but I might just be stupid. At the start of the podcast is appears as if he despises the person who stole the shark, but at the end it seems like he was the one who stole the shark.

  • Big Time Review

As a podcast fan I’m delighted to have a new one like this! Similar to Snap Judgement and This American Life (but not NPR related) - episodes that stand on their own and interesting. Though the fish one was already highlighted on the famous “This Is Criminal” podcast.

These stories are a testament to Reality is Stranger Than Fiction.

  • Pretty good👍

I really like this series and it is also good for kids who like crime but not in a gory way. Some of the episodes were not great but most were really interesting.

  • Steve Buscemi is the “host?”

These are interesting stories with a lot of work put into the writing and producing, but NOT by Steve Buscemi. This is the reason so many fantastic podcasts (like terrible, thanks for asking) can’t survive because movie stars are being paid for their name and aren’t doing the work.

  • Entertaining, if not deeply complete

The episode about the Mayor of Madison Avenue ended on a whimper because a quick Google and some photo comparisons quickly brings up AndyZ’s Facebook page where, yes, he’s still trying to be someone and hustle some frocks. While not blatantly hiding his face, he doesn’t exactly cover it up. It’s him. Would’ve been nice to hear from him.

  • Just right

I like true crime but sometimes it is too much, too dark. Big Time makes a great palate cleanser-no death, no blood, but “crimes” nonetheless.

Just really good with Steve Buscemi as a bonus.
