  • I can’t get down with this…

The leash pulling episode - what’s the point of this podcast? There was less than 10 minutes of information. The rest is just 3 people hanging out talking about dog training. It’s like sitting at bar with 3 dog trainers talking shop and your there just to listen about their career.

  • Informative and fun!

I am getting ready to get my first dog, and not ever having grown up around dogs, I knew I needed to start getting good information so I could understand the fundamentals of dog behavior and training. I feel so much more informed about dogs after having bingeing most of the episodes! I really love the laidback conversation and the straightforward truthful approach these guys have! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

  • Love this!

Hey guys, I absolutely love your podcast! I recently became a balanced trainer and I listen to your podcast all the time. During my commute to and from work and while rocking my baby boy to sleep at night. The facility I work at aligns perfectly with your approach to dog training so I really value your insights. I also love guessing the dog barks with you, although I’m yet to get one right 😆. Thanks for taking the time to create this podcast.

  • Episode volume

I Really enjoy the show! Very informative and helpful info on all things dog!

The volume on the episodes is really low! I have to turn the volume all the way up on my devices , and i can still barely hear you guys.

That is my only criticism! Thanks and keep up the good work 👍🏻

Training session lengths depend on the age and familiarity of the dog with commands; for puppies, sessions should be shorter, while older dogs may handle longer sessions, so it varies widely.
Taking Dog Training Questions From Our Listeners
Q: How do I ensure consistent behavior when family members have different habits?
All family members need to be on the same page; otherwise, it becomes very difficult for the dog to learn consistent behaviors due to conflicting signals from different owners.
Taking Dog Training Questions From Our Listeners
Q: My dog doesn't come when called at the park. He runs away and won't stop no matter what I do or say.
Work on foundational commands in a controlled environment before attempting them off-leash. Build muscle memory and control your dog on a leash in the park to prepare for distractions.
Taking Dog Training Questions From Our Listeners
Q: How do I handle leash reactivity in unpredictable environments?
Train for real-life scenarios and create unpredictable situations during training to prepare your dog for real-life situations while practicing skills.
Taking Dog Training Questions From Our Listeners
Q: How do I know when to use positive reinforcement versus when to apply a correction?
Use corrections when the dog understands the command fully and is consistent in following it in a similar environment, typically around 80-90% success before correcting for non-compliance.
