  • Marcus King Episode

I usually really enjoy these podcasts and I am a massive massive fan of Marcus King but I cannot help but feel this episode was almost like Marcus wasn’t there. The conversation’s topics should be tailored around the guests and about them.

  • Give the other side

Joe is incredibly objective. It’s rare. However, as he does with the recent libertarian, he doesn’t offer counter to all the claims of US failure, as all states fail and have past sins (I lived in China for years and we’re angelic in comparison), with views that challenge such ‘facts’ and ‘history’ that’s claimed of our geopolitical missteps.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#2497 - Gad Saad
Q: What do you think happens in the future to Concordia and just to Montreal in general with this influx of people?
Saad suggests there will be gradual, long-term cultural and demographic shifts, with some institutions adapting but also facing challenges—leading to a 'slow death' of prior norms unless open societies manage integration effectively.
#2496 - Julia Mossbridge
Q: How did you begin applying scientific methods to precognition and telepathy?
I cold-called scientists, found mentors, and structured studies that used rigorous controls, including postdoc work and collaborations to test precognitive intuitions with measurable physiological responses.
#2476 - Shanna H. Swan
Q: Is there a clear, evidence-backed link between exposure to these chemicals and fertility or reproductive outcomes?
The guest outlines multiple studies and a longitudinal intervention showing associations between higher chemical exposure and lower sperm quality or fertility outcomes, as well as improvements when exposures are reduced. While causality in complex human systems is challenging to prove definitively, the consensus across the discussed data suggests a meaningful relationship that is supported by animal and human studies.
#2344 - Amjad Masad
Q: What sparked your interest in programming and how did Replit come about?
Masad explains that Replit emerged from a desire to lower barriers to programming, enabling anyone to code through simple prompts on a phone, much like AI-assisted coding. He emphasizes learning by doing and the democratization of software development.
#2474 - Dave Smith
Q: Is there a practical off-ramp for the Iran situation?
They discuss the difficulty of a clean off-ramp given Iran's resilience and regional dynamics, suggesting that any exit must consider credible guarantees and regional stability rather than a simple victory narrative.
