The Lived Experience

Joel Kleber

The lived experience podcast is about sharing real people's stories of lived experiences on a large range of mental health topics. As a child of a single mother with BiPolar, I wanted to create interviews that would fill the content gap around this subject and lesser-known issues that are covered in the current mental health awareness movement. Mental health awareness and advocacy go far beyond de... more

  • So glad this exists

As someone who grew up with a parent who’s bipolar type 1 and tried navigating the health care system in Australia I can relate so much to other peoples stories. It’s somewhat comforting and healing to know I wasn’t the only one and people had similar struggles and the ways they’ve managed it. But also the work this podcast does at raising awareness but pushing for so much more than that which is what we need

  • Goes beyond platitudes to push for real change

Joel speaks his mind and, although I don’t agree with him all of the time, we should admire his courage and insight. Plus, he has great guests and really cares about actually helping people with mental illness and their carers.

    Edit

Ok on reflection my review wasn’t balanced. It did not express in the early part of this interview which was in line with most of your podcast. Interesting and supp... more
