As someone who grew up with a parent who’s bipolar type 1 and tried navigating the health care system in Australia I can relate so much to other peoples stories. It’s somewhat comforting and healing to know I wasn’t the only one and people had similar struggles and the ways they’ve managed it. But also the work this podcast does at raising awareness but pushing for so much more than that which is what we need
Joel speaks his mind and, although I don’t agree with him all of the time, we should admire his courage and insight. Plus, he has great guests and really cares about actually helping people with mental illness and their carers.
It’s an opinion that someone who has the look can weaponise blah blah. But you have lost some respect I had during the episode. So what about the people that don’t have the look. Yet are intelligent interesting committed blah blah. Your argument is immature and I would like to be a fly on the wall in 25 years to your views then.
