Useful. The tone doesn’t work for me (this is a note to self). But I’m pleased that this podcast works for many other people.

  • LOVE this!!!

I’m obsessed with this podcast. Listening to the Aphantasia podcast as I write this and I have known I’ve had this for quite some time - so it’s amazing to hear Alexis speak about it.

  • Empowering, straightforward, no-nonsense. Facts not opinions.

I’m grateful for Alexis’ advice, especially around ADHD and its associated daily struggles.

When people casually claim they “have” ADHD, it undermines how much I struggle with my clinical diagnosis across every facet of my life. Alexis calls this out and provides actual steps on how to improve and get things together.

I first discovered her through Lucy & Nikki’s podcast: how she empowered herself to create a better life post breakup. She’s a wonderful example.

Thank you, Alexis, for combin... more

  • Word Wiskers Kill Attention

Ironic that a podcast about focusing would contain so many word whiskers that distracted from the topic.

I understand people curse, it happens. It might be a good episode to study ways to break out of the habit of word whiskers. I’m sure for some, cursing as word whisker is cool and edgy, but frankly it just sounds stupid and it’s distracting.

A shame because this podcast sounds interesting. I’ll be looking elsewhere.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

483. Being alone vs staying in a group that doesn't align and my partner gives me the silent treatment and I can't handle it anymore (Headnoise)
Q: What should I do about silent treatment in a relationship when it's used to control or shut me out?
Identify whether the behavior is a pattern of emotional manipulation, then request a calm, scheduled time to talk. If the person remains unresponsive or continues the pattern, consider setting firm boundaries and tools for accountability, and assess whether the relationship aligns with your values and long-term well-being.
482. Moving past retroactive jealousy, and how to come to terms with leaving my home country for good?
Q: How do I handle retroactive jealousy while my partner has a past that makes me insecure?
Acknowledge the past but focus on present trust and open communication. Have calm, honest conversations about boundaries and feelings, seek reassurance where appropriate, and work on building a sense of security within the relationship rather than dwelling on past events.
478. Is it a red flag, should I pivot and why am I such a people pleaser (Headnoise)
Q: How do you know when to push through uncertainty versus when it's time to pivot in a creative career?
Keep going with what you love, build a financial buffer by taking a second, lower-stress job, and avoid pivoting away from your core passion until income and stability improve.
478. Is it a red flag, should I pivot and why am I such a people pleaser (Headnoise)
Q: And is it possible that labeling the relationship is a red flag or something I should be worried about?
The host reassures that it's normal for a calm, secure partner not to label the relationship immediately, and suggests having a conversation to align expectations without overreading the situation.
475. My friends fiancé crossed a line, can I let go of resentment and I am a delayed gratification addict (Headnoise)
Q: I want to celebrate these things without being swept away by whatever the next milestone is.
