Long time listener but finally coming to share! Since listening to the podcast I have bought my first home, bought an investment property, created a share portfolio with the help of the investing masterclass and seen a financial advisor. I have learned so much along the way from Victoria, Jess and Bec for these big goals I have had. There have been so many other handy tips which have helped with super, budgets and insurances. • Conned!

This podcast frequently mentions Sharsies as an easy app to start investing with. It is not easy! It is deceptive. I tried to setup auto invest to start on 12 March and the app charged me from 27 February. So deceitful! I’m really that She’s On The Money supports companies that do this kind of thing. I was so excited to try it and now 2 days before my 45th birthday I’m down $200 😭

  • Would be better if the host kept the intro shorter or time stamped the intro.

Hi, I’m so here for this podcast and I love the educational content. However, my gripe is the hosts spend way too much time on the Intro, for eg. on a recent ep, I spent 24 min listening to chit chat. If that’s the case, can the hosts please, time stamp or reference the topic of conversation from the Intro in the Title. That will help guide our listening experience. Thanks!

  • I finally could afford the dentist ✅

Hear me out, this might sound strange… but for at least 6+ years I’ve convinced myself that I can’t afford the dentist (which is beyond terrible I know). But as someone who struggles to save, I’ve only ever heard stories of people visiting the dentist after years and getting bills of $5k+ and for someone who always had less than $1000 in her account, I convinced myself I couldn’t afford it.

At the start of this year I started listening to SOTM, signed up to the Budgeting course and have made s... more

She is legit incredible, ridiculously well spoken and intelligent. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are You Actually Behind Financially? And the 12 Month Job Myth
Q: Is leaving a job before 12 months a red flag on your resume anymore?
The guests explain that mental health and honest framing matter; most employers understand short stints if you clearly articulate the context, the lessons learned, and why the next role is a better fit. Contract work and temporary roles can be presented as strategic career moves.
The Questions Everyone Has About Investing in the Share Market, Finally Answered
Q: What happens when you sell a share and how does CGT apply?
Selling can trigger capital gains tax if you've held the asset for more than 12 months, you may receive a 50% CGT discount on gains for long-held assets, and the broker processes the sale in a few days; it's important to track old vs. new shares for tax purposes.
The Questions Everyone Has About Investing in the Share Market, Finally Answered
Q: What tax implications should beginners expect when investing in the share market?
Tax is based on money earned; you pay at your marginal tax rate only on profits when you actually realize gains or dividends, and even then you can manage it through long-term holdings and tax reporting, with platforms providing statements to simplify filing.
Why Owning Property Isn’t Always the Safety Net You Think... And the Relationship Red Flag That Has Us Concerned
Q: Hi there. Have you got a money dilemma you just can't solve?
The hosts present a structured approach to evaluating whether to sell the investment property, to consider property management, and to plan a financial safety net, while acknowledging that personal circumstances vary and there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution.
She Bought Her First Home With a 2% Deposit on an $86k Salary
Q: What did the property end up costing you?
The full property cost was $450,000; she put down $15,000 instead of the $9,000 minimum because it made the offer more competitive, and the government contributed $95,000, resulting in a 30% government equity stake.
