  • Errol is top class

It’s so great to have somebody like Errol Louis in the city to report and dissect the politics and everything else that comes with it. He’s been exceptional over this mayoral election cycle and Inside City Hall is an essential watch. As is this podcast!!

  • Intimate like radio, with a living library all wrapped up into one.

There are few broadcasts where preoccupation with image and dynamic sets take a back seat to adult conversations. Errol Louis leads fascinating conversations, not only because he aims at the root of NY, but because he IS, NY. He knows the history, the characters and their stories. The narrative makes itself. You wanna really (really) know what’s going on in NYC, the world? Don’t just watch the news, hear what the people shaping that news are sharing with Errol Louis.

  • One-Sided Reporting

I just listened to Errol’s interview with Peter Beinart. A good reporter doesn’t let his own personal views get in the way of accurate coverage. Beinart’s view of the Israel Hamas War is very most certainly one-sided. But, Errol has once again failed to interview a second pundit with a contrasting point of view. He openly supported Beinart’s claims instead. This leaves the listener with only one side of the story.

Errol did the same thing when he interviewed Henry Garrido of DC37 about New Yor... more

Rent wars: Kenny Burgos vs. NYC housing policies
Q: What do you think should be done in the near term to relieve pressure while longer-term fixes are pursued?

Rent wars: Kenny Burgos vs. NYC housing policies
Q: Tell me about the dynamic with Mamdani and how you view the rent policy from the landlord side.
The guest explains that he and Mamdani come from different camps but agree on the urgency of housing distress; he argues against a blanket rent freeze and emphasizes fixing the underlying economics by reforming vacancy decontrol and encouraging redevelopment and modernization of aging stock.
Hakeem Jeffries on leadership and legislative battles
Q: Are there votes from Republicans for the discharge petition to reform ICE, and what are the prospects for advancing it?
Jeffries explains that the discharge petition has had past success on bipartisan lines, with a handful of Republicans previously joining to force up-or-down votes on legislation, and he believes a similar handful could join again to fund essential agencies and bring ICE under greater oversight, though it remains a work in progress.
Rep. Mike Lawler: 'We didn't need to know about Iran before the strikes'
Q: What are your thoughts on ICE and immigration reform, including potential policies on body cameras and identification for agents?
Support for reasonable reforms, including body cameras and clear identification for agents, while advocating for fair and legal pathways to status for longtime residents who contribute to the economy; broader immigration reform remains essential.
