  • I’m a subscriber, but…

Also, in your discussion of Josh Graham’s documentary, you skipped over the problem of witnesses and victims being identified. Finally, you all (and especially Katie) please get some vocal training ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Hell Gate 2026 Judicial Convention
Q: Why is court reporting important to understanding the judiciary?
Court reporters are essential because the lack of audiovisual recording in New York courts means transcripts and written records are the primary way to understand proceedings, but those transcripts can be slow or incomplete, impacting appeals and accountability.
The Hell Gate 2026 Judicial Convention
Q: What is a judicial delegate?
A judicial delegate is someone elected during a primary who then goes to a convention to decide who will be the party nominees for judgeships, meaning they have a direct say in who becomes a judge.
Our Interview With Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Annotated
Q: Do you support your governor's efforts to pass a law that allows the state to not follow climate legislation from 2019?
The guest indicates a careful stance on climate policy, noting ongoing debates and a desire to balance budgets while pursuing energy transition, and signals alignment with urgent climate action.
Our Interview With Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Annotated
Q: What would you say to folks who went to Albany to fight for the income tax increase, who feel disappointed by this sort of compromise?
The guest emphasizes the importance of New Yorkers raising their voices and frames the compromise as a necessary political tactic while acknowledging the ongoing urgency of taxing the ultra-wealthy and balancing the budget.
Zohran’s Snow Betrayal feat. Michael Lange
Q: What issues would change for constituents regardless of who wins?
It will depend on the issues and messages that resonate most with the voters in this diverse, urban district, which is notably high in renters and millennials.
