The rotating cast dynamic is pretty good, with some contributors better than others for sure. I appreciate Courtney and Bobby's steady hands. And at risk of overly tone-policing but Bernadette can come across as irrationally critical of the mayor and the left in general (it's possible to present conservative views without falling into a frantic "none of this will ever work" tone, imo). Still, a nice balance and great in-depth coverage of the week in local news.
Great show/ensemble. Courtney is a great political reporter, but Bobby is better suited as lead host. More inclusive style and sets the stage better for the other contributors. Thank you all for this show and your ongoing reporting.
With the exception of Bobby Kuza the hosts play fast and loose with details and the appropriate names for events and phenomena that I expect from journalist who are sharing facts, information and analysis. Two of the three hosts of the show regularly hitch their own preexisting value judgement on to the facts they are reporting... obviously shading their reporting and makes them unreliable sources.
It is a fallacy that journalist can or should keep one’s opinions out of their reporting. But re... more
Updated: It’s time for an overhaul to the ENTIRE panel. // Keep Juan, get rid of the other 2. Courtney comes off as incredibly privileged, entitled and out of touch. I’d bet a million bucks she’s heard that feedback before. I can’t even remember the other guy’s name. And we need at least one progressive voice on this show. Ideally a Black progressive.
I listened for Grace Rauh, I guess I stay to hear the most braindead identity politics imaginable from Juan

Each episode blends on-the-ground reporting with sharp analysis of city-wide issues, budget battles, and political maneuvering, often weaving in state-level dynamics and high-profile stories.
