It's so tempting to let a problem slide, be it an issue at work, a relationship that isn't working or our food habits. The thought of tackling things head on can be so overwhelming that you might want to shy away from action. Sadly, that's unlikely t... more
Short episode alert!
It’s pretty straightforward. High calorie food is simply too high calorie to fit into a balanced diet in anything other than a small quantity. Sometimes we want to have our cake and eat it too, and endeavour to burn off thousand... more
You might be convinced it’s impossible to lose weight. You feel like you’ve tried everything, but nothing changes. Having spent 10 years at double the healthy weight of someone my height, I understand why you might feel that way. I felt so stuck in t... more
I can see why people think this, particularly if they themselves have never been overweight. As someone who’s been through it I understand how we can wind up with weight problems against our will. That’s not that part that we choose. Changing is.

It would be lovely if there were magical solutions to our problems. Sadly, that’s beyond the realm of possibility. What is possible though, is starting the work. It might not feel like that’s the case, but I assure you it is. You have to believe you’... more
Losing weight can be a battle, but having a plan can shield you from the hardest blows. Personally, I succumb to my urges to overeat the quickest when I haven’t planned a healthy meal. I feel intimidated by all the gym equipment when I walk in withou... more
A common pitfall in weight loss is to get side tracked by your goal weight. I would stand on the scale every day and do the mental maths to see how far away I was from success.
If I could go back now, I’d do things differently. Instead of counting e... more

Sometimes kinda cringe but a good listen. It’s very insightful, interesting, and if you’re on a weight loss journey, I feel like it’s such a good reminder and a great podcast to keep you on track.
As someone who struggles with overeating, I’ve been really enjoying the extra info and motivation. Like their other podcast, A Dolphin Pod, it’s surprisingly funny given the subject matter. If you want some lifestyle motivation, info about food and diet, or just a quick laugh, I highly recommend!
Even without having gone through the same exact life experiences as Amy, this podcast is super relatable, motivating, and informational. The insights she shares can be applied to so many aspects of life, even beyond health and fitness. I’ve already found myself wanting to re-listen to episodes! Also, the outtakes at the end crack me up.
Download it folks.
This isn’t just motivational mantras and preaching, it’s very reasonable, very realistic and very practical bits of advice and education from someone that’s been on the other side of this journey.
It’s delivered in a non-condescending tone, and hearing Amy’s story is really inspirational.
Amy, you rock.
Definitely worth a listen.

A practical, no-nonsense take on weight loss mindset, habits, and sustainable change. Episodes frequently dissect popular mantras, contrast quick fixes with long-term behaviors, and blend personal stories with research-backed guidance. The host leans into self-compassion, therapy, and identity-focused motivation, often challenging diet culture while providing actionable tips for calories, planning, and habit formation. Notable is the candid, unapologetic stance on medications, body image, and the messy, non-linear path of real-world weight management, making it useful for listeners seeking relatable guidance and steady progress.
A standout throughline is the emphasis on consistent daily actions over dramatic heroics, with guests and pop-cu... more
