  • Great podcast

A very interesting podcast about what’s new in guns and gun politics.

I will say I find the sports banter completely boring.

I wish you would stop wasting so much time talking about your home sports teams

  • SPORTS TALK

PLEASE STOP THE SPORTS TALK BANTER. Your podcast is EXCELLENT. You are more informed and insightful than any attorney you have on. But, when you talk about the eagles, I swerve off the road to hit the fast forward button. Other than the useless sports banter your podcast is the best on gun issues. Thanks for all the time and research you do.

  • Informative and refreshing take on firearms news

Stephen does a fantastic job making complex and often misunderstood firearms and legal topics understandable with zero excess hype or drama. He has a very professional and business like demeanor but also clearly has a passion for the topics he covers. I really enjoy the news segments, as he also has a very good cast of news analysts to keep the topics and discussions fresh and relevant.

  • Excellent show but….

…please invest in a better microphone and some sound treatment. The sibilance is killing my ears!

Aside from that, great work! Carry on.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How Jeanine Pirro's Latest Move Risks DOJ's Reputation With Gun-Rights Activists (Ft. Kostas Moros)
Q: Why do you think the DOJ has generally been strong for gun rights, despite some controversial actions?
Moros argues that the norm of defending federal laws, across administrations, has provided a stabilizing framework for gun-rights litigation, enabling more favorable outcomes in cases like suppressors protections and social, procedural developments, even if some actions appear contradictory or politically expedient.
How Jeanine Pirro's Latest Move Risks DOJ's Reputation With Gun-Rights Activists (Ft. Kostas Moros)
Q: Can you explain what happened and why you find it distressing?
Kostas Moros outlines that Pirro joined an en banc petition to preserve the DC registration provision while not defending the magazine ban consistently, which threatens the circuit split and could undermine gains in hardware-ban litigation. He stresses the odd coherence of defending some laws while advocating for a broader change that could jeopardize strategic litigation goals.
Inside The Second Amendment Foundation's Fight Against Red Flag Laws
Q: Do you think this leaves an opening to challenge the law again under different facts or with different plaintiffs?
Yes. The as-applied nature of these challenges means future cases with different facts, or separate components like the emergency evaluation, could yield new avenues. The key is finding plaintiffs with suitable circumstances and demonstrated harms.
Inside The Second Amendment Foundation's Fight Against Red Flag Laws
Q: What were the specific challenges you guys brought against the Maryland Red Flag Law?
We filed constitutional claims across several amendments, focusing on Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment issues, with particular emphasis on the evidentiary standard of reasonable grounds for an interim IRPO and the due process implications of ex parte proceedings.
How Tariffs and War Have Impacted the Ammo Market (Ft. Black Basin Outdoors)
Q: What macro factors are driving consumer behavior in ammo buying right now?
People stock up when they fear instability—domestic tensions, geopolitical conflicts, and potential military action increase demand; price increases lag behind shipping and production realities, so consumers and retailers react by adjusting inventories and pricing gradually.
