  • Great podcast

A very interesting podcast about what’s new in guns and gun politics.

I will say I find the sports banter completely boring.

I wish you would stop wasting so much time talking about your home sports teams

  • SPORTS TALK

PLEASE STOP THE SPORTS TALK BANTER. Your podcast is EXCELLENT. You are more informed and insightful than any attorney you have on. But, when you talk about the eagles, I swerve off the road to hit the fast forward button. Other than the useless sports banter your podcast is the best on gun issues. Thanks for all the time and research you do.

  • Informative and refreshing take on firearms news

Stephen does a fantastic job making complex and often misunderstood firearms and legal topics understandable with zero excess hype or drama. He has a very professional and business like demeanor but also clearly has a passion for the topics he covers. I really enjoy the news segments, as he also has a very good cast of news analysts to keep the topics and discussions fresh and relevant.

  • Excellent show but….

…please invest in a better microphone and some sound treatment. The sibilance is killing my ears!

Aside from that, great work! Carry on.

Colorado Gun Sales Soar as New Restrictions Arrive; The Humble Marksman Explains the Gun Industry's Latest Crossroads
Q: So can you just give us maybe a little bit of background on that video and some of the ideas in it?
David discusses the history of handgun development, from Glock's entry into concealed carry to the rise of compact, high-capacity 9mm designs and the evolution of 2011-era pistols, framing how industry trends have shifted toward high-end, feature-rich carry guns.
SCOTUS Takes AR-15 Ban Challenge as Virginia Ban Goes Into Effect
Q: What do experts think the Supreme Court will do with the AR-15 bans?
Experts broadly expect the Court to strike down AR-15 bans, arguing that common arms widely used for lawful purposes cannot be prohibited; a few experts remain cautious.
SCOTUS Takes AR-15 Ban Challenge as Virginia Ban Goes Into Effect
Q: Could you give us a little breakdown of what lower courts have actually held so far in the Solvens band cases?
Two circuits (Seventh and Fourth) have held AR-15s are not arms under the Second Amendment, while the First and Second Circuits have treated AR-15s as arms but with a nuanced historical analysis that accommodates modern concerns.
Why Lower Courts Agree on AR-15 Bans and Why it May Not Matter (Ft. Andrew Willinger)
Q: Could magazines or suppressors fall under the same analysis, and how might the Court approach them?
There is debate about whether magazines or suppressors are arms themselves or accessories; the Court may extend the step-two historical-analogue framework to these items, but there is significant uncertainty about how far the text-history-tradition test will reach.
Why Lower Courts Agree on AR-15 Bans and Why it May Not Matter (Ft. Andrew Willinger)
Q: What role does 'common use' play in the analysis, and will the Court address it more clearly?
Common use is central to determining protected status under Bruen, but many lower courts avoid deep common-use analyses at step one and defer to step two, which examines historical tradition; the guest predicts the Court may constrain or clarify common-use considerations but may not delineate a precise numeric threshold.
