  • Good Content; often uneven audio.

I agree with a previous review that the audio in this podcast often is difficult to understand. In particular the disparity of the volume between Cam and the person being interviewed results in either one being ear-splitting or so low as to be not understandable. Often I have to adjust volume from speaker.

My other complaint that some might consider petty, but in the text accompanying the podcast, the 2nd Amendment is written as two sentences, vice one as written in the Constitution. That seems... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

ATF Director Says Violent Criminals Are Agency's Priority, Not Lawful Gun Owners
Q: Should the ATF have an adversarial relationship with the firearms industry?
No. The host argues for a relationship where the ATF acts as a regulator and partner, enforcing the law fairly and holding lawbreakers accountable, rather than taking an adversarial stance that could undermine cooperation and compliance.
ATF Director Says Violent Criminals Are Agency's Priority, Not Lawful Gun Owners
Q: What was the goal when the ATF introduced these rules?
The goal was to implement the President's Second Amendment agenda by removing unnecessary burdens on law-abiding citizens, modernizing regulations, and clarifying issues like straw purchases and background check timelines to improve public safety while reducing needless regulatory friction.
Cekada and Leider on Reforming the ATF
Q: If given the opportunity, would you also sit down with Jennifer Macia from The Trace? Would you sit down with somebody from Giffords Law Center or Everytown for Gun Safety?
Cekada indicates willingness to engage with a range of organizations, including Everytown, Giffords, and Brady, and describes past interactions with these groups as part of his broader approach to dialogue and transparency.
A 2A-Twofer: Breaking Down Wolford and the Real-World Implications of Hemani
Q: Is this case still active and what are the next steps in the Florida litigation?
The case remains active but on stay pending Hemani; the parties will lift the stay and the court will determine how to proceed, likely with supplemental briefs in light of Hemani.
A 2A-Twofer: Breaking Down Wolford and the Real-World Implications of Hemani
Q: So what is the prohibition right now? Under Florida law, can those who possess a medical marijuana license be precluded from obtaining a concealed carry permit, or is the 922G3 issue the main obstacle?
Dan explains that Florida's background-check framework for concealed carry largely uses existing state processes and does not bar medical marijuana participants outright; the federal 922G3 prohibition is the main obstacle, but Hemani casts doubt on treating regular medical use as a blanket disqualification, shifting the focus to dangerousness and stricter federal interpretations.
