The history of gay Toronto mirrors America’s queer history and this podcast is such an important discussion of gay history. My Gen Z children don’t realize how recent the complete erasure of queerness was. How in my own young adulthood complete persecution existed. This podcast mostly ignores the killer and lovingly looks at the life and community of the victims.
Season 1 was well produced, gripping and absoluately horrifying.
As a gen z/ millennial cusp lesbian it’s wonderful to hear our history. Makes me very thankful for older 2SLGBTQIA+ folks who came before me and fought so I don’t have to go through what they went through.
This podcast does not advocate for sex trafficking, it advocates for sex work. These are extremely different. No one who is advocating for the decriminalization of sex work is advocating to make the sale and trade of human beings, ESPECIALLY against their wills, acceptable. In fact, I believe legalizing sex work is a path to reducing sex trafficking.
