  • All credibility lost after Laura Owen’s episode

So disappointing. Important content… and yet… credibility went out the window with the Laura Owen’s episode. There are multiple court cases against her for HER abuse and harassment of male victims—all in the public record. Clearly has some kind factitious disorder. Episode should be removed if there is any ounce of credibility to this show.

  • Mark Matson episode is inexplicable

This guy might as well be a right wing talking AI module.

His binary capitalism v socialist / capitalism thinking a waste.

Need a much stronger hand reeling him into creative topic if even have him on

His topic is played and his delivery is lifted = not very creative.

  • That ep with Mike was EVERYTHING!

Hi Srini, loved that conversation with Mike about Startups in Why Some Startups Change the Future! I resonated with what you talked about - that most technology breakthroughs are standing on the shoulders of giants - that in some ways it’s like you’re forming new connections between what exists already and what just came about. Left 5-star ratings and reviews!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Brian Portnoy: Why Being Wealthy Is Different from Being Rich
Q: How should listeners approach educating their kids about money to avoid the pitfalls you discussed?
Teach with modeling rather than lecturing, emphasize integrity and social responsibility, and encourage broad liberal arts thinking to foster original questions and flexible problem-solving for future opportunities that don't yet exist.
Brian Portnoy: Why Being Wealthy Is Different from Being Rich
Q: You mention four Cs as the pillars of wealth. Can you summarize how these work together in practical terms?
The four Cs are connection, control, competence, and context. They describe the underwritten social, cognitive, and identity needs that money should serve, recognizing that each costs money to support, and that balance among them leads to sustainable well-being.
Brian Portnoy: Why Being Wealthy Is Different from Being Rich
Q: Being rich is often about more, while wealth is about funding contentment. How do you define that distinction in your own life?
I see wealth as funded contentment—the ongoing ability to underwrite a meaningful life—whereas riches is the treadmill of always wanting more. The goal is to align money with lasting purpose rather than chasing status.
Allison Schrager: The Economics of Risk, Uncertainty, and Making Better Decisions
Q: How do you measure risk in non-financial domains like dating or personal decisions?
The guest explains that while data helps, many non-financial risks are qualitative; people can track past outcomes, learn from them, and translate insights into better probability-informed choices, but certainty remains elusive and adaptability is key.
Brad Montague: The Courage to Create Like a Kid
Q: How has the project evolved, and what does the future look like for Robbie and Kid President?
Brad describes expanding from a camp project to a movement, balancing fame with family life, ensuring the project remains joyful and purposeful, and planning a transition to civilian life while continuing to mentor and create with Robbie.
