This story in an of itself is fascinating. I have a very hard time understanding how the narrator of this podcast is going to spin this into anything other than a redemption art for her and her friend who admittedly were at the center of a witch hunt. The case they make for this guy being who they think he is is compelling even two episodes in. But I'd be lying if I said I'm not listening now just to see how they spin this to their advantage to make themselves feel better. I think the narrator c... more
I’m enthralled. I am of the same generation and while the culture of Garfield sounds extremely unique, the act of turning on the victims and whistleblowers was not unique.
This is a really interesting story…the only draw back is the whiny insecure woman telling the story.
OMG. I was a new teacher in the mid to late 90s and cannot tell you how perfectly you described a culture in the school where I taught as well. I continue to teach today and I can’t even believe what was accepted or allowed during those years. I’m so glad that you have brought this to the surface and I definitely yell and scream in the car when they want to fire you and tell you to be quiet. “Tell me who is your boogieman
That's who I will be
You don't have to like me for who I am
But we'll se... more
This is an interesting well told story with lots of of detail to bring it to life. The protagonist/narrator and her best friend are richly illustrated as just awful people. What a nightmare it would have been to go to high school with them. I have a feeling that things will change as the story develops. Two episodes in, is interesting to center the villains as the narrators and protagonists.
