I recently noticed a quote from AAHC(AL sketchy serpentine middlemen) from this podcast stating that PBMs save $1000/patient. I own a pharmacy, have worked with independents, chains, consulting, retail specialty and close door specialty pharmacy arenas. Please tell me how PBMs save any money??? Caremark made $57billion in 2024 and the other PBMs were similar. If I got rid of PBMs, that $57 billion would go back to providers and mostly to consumers and employers carrying the plans.
