Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 48 - 8 Visits a Day: One MSP Prospecting System That Actually Works (w/Guest: Aston Fortuna)
Q: What's the core approach you use to replace the old field-work with a scalable sales process?
The guest describes starting with focused canvassing, one-mile radii, narrowing ICP, going in with a simple script, collecting contact cards, and following up daily with emails. He emphasizes leveraging local networking groups, a strong referral mindset, and an account-management layer to keep the pipeline healthy, all while maintaining a lean team and relying on personal discipline.
Episode 47 - The Algorithmic Approach to Booking Meetings for MSPs (Guest: Nicole Bielanski)
Q: How have your outreach strategies evolved in the MSP space, and what works today?
She explains moving from traditional LinkedIn and cold email to warmer, relationship-based outreach, using a mix of warm calling, trigger-based conversations, and value-added touches (like sharing useful resources) to initiate real meetings with IT decision-makers.
Episode 25 - Marketing Works. Yours Doesn’t. Here’s Why. (w/ Guest: Johnathan Schofield)
Q: What makes a marketing effort effective for MSPs, according to the guest?
Effective marketing earns mental real estate by facilitating authentic, physical, human connections and staying consistent over time. It's not about flashy campaigns alone but about how marketing supports real, tangible engagement and outcomes like new customers.
Episode 19 - Cold Outreach That Actually Works (w/ Guest: James Milsom)
Q: What practical tips can MSPs apply today to improve their outreach emails?
Start with deliverability by avoiding mass identical emails, tailor messages to specific personas, test subject lines and tones, and think of emails as invitations to conversations rather than transactions.
Episode 19 - Cold Outreach That Actually Works (w/ Guest: James Milsom)
Q: How should MSPs think about using cold email within a broader go-to-market strategy?
Treat cold email as part of a multi-channel approach (including LinkedIn and calling), focusing on relevance, personalization, and clear next steps rather than a standalone mass outreach tactic.
