  • Great Info

Friend of mine sent over this podcast and I’m glad she did. I’m working on a budget and putting back for my future. These guys talk everyday talk and I find it very informative and helpful. I’ve heard several shows that normally always feel like they’re selling something and this show isn’t an infomercial. Trying to be money wise

  • Vaccine discussion

Bashing those who are unvaccinated is wrong. Try to understand other’s perspectives. I’m vaccinated but have very health conscious and educated relatives who are opposed to getting it. Don’t just assume that the unvaccinated are ignorant, stupid or just acting stubborn.

You mention the importance of critical thinking but you are just seeing the world through your own narrow lens. I’ve been listener throughout the entire pandemic, and I’m now unfollowing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

5/20/26 Bubble Trouble? AI, Auto Leases & Credit Cards
Q: In business, with equipment, when should you lease vs buy? What are the main rules of thumb?
Lease tends to be better when technology depreciates quickly or cash flow is tight, buying is preferable for long-term use, control, and when ownership creates value; analyze total cost of ownership, depreciation, opportunity costs, and cash flow impact.
5/20/26 Bubble Trouble? AI, Auto Leases & Credit Cards
Q: Is consolidating debt into one loan or card going to hurt my credit score, and is it worth it to lower overall costs?
Consolidation can lower monthly payments and simplify management, but it may temporarily ding your score due to new credit lines; assess overall cost vs current debt and consider balance transfer offers with caution, including upfront fees and long-term rate plans.
5/20/26 Bubble Trouble? AI, Auto Leases & Credit Cards
Q: Hey, Moneywise Guys. So I'm a single parent, and between groceries, gas, and everything else, I've racked up more credit card debt than I'm comfortable with. What should I prioritize first, the smallest balance or the highest interest?
The avalanche versus snowball framework helps decide: sometimes paying the smallest balance first creates momentum (snowball), but often targeting the highest-cost debt first (avalanche) saves more money in interest; the best approach depends on psychology, cash flow, and whether you can sustain payment momentum.
5/11/26 The New Energy Crisis? Chad Hathaway Breaks Down Oil in 2026
Q: How do you know when it's actually time to switch from a sole proprietorship to an LLC or S-Corp?
Chad explains that the decision hinges on liability protection, the presence of employees, and tax considerations, with a strong emphasis on consulting a CPA or attorney to tailor the choice to specific business needs.
5/12/26 Inflation, Lending Risks & California's Record Gas Prices
Q: With everything happening involving Iran and oil prices, could that affect interest rates or make banks cautious about lending these days?
Yes, lenders will weigh oil price trends and geopolitical risks in their projections; higher oil prices can squeeze profitability for borrowers and push banks to tighten terms or adjust pricing, though experienced bankers also adjust based on data, trendlines, and borrower quality.
