  • FINALLY My Leagues is Being Covered!

Been a long time listener, and fan, of Protagonist and all the different shows from the Protagonist Weekly, USL2, Knights, even listened to the TV Show/Movie reviews through the pandemic!

But now with One League Under the C (amazing title obviously) one of my favorite podcasts is covering the local team/league we follow! Match made in heaven! Thanks guys!

  • Level headed, no homer-ism talk on lower league soccer

It’s easy to start a podcast about something you’re passionate about. However it’s difficult to make that topic interesting or come off as neutral, especially when you want the topic at hand to succeed. The guys at Protagonist do care about lower league soccer in the United States but are able to call out the good from the bad. Their interviews are well researched and the guests are almost always going to leave expelling far more than any listener could have imagined. A great listen.

  • Lower league level soccer, premier league level banter

I don’t give a rip about nisa and actually think the league should lose its ussf sanctioning due to its numerous blunders and terrible leadership. These guys however, have such good chemistry and passion for the league and lower league soccer in general, that I will tune into each and every episode and have a heck of a good time doing it. Keep up the great work guys. Also love the USL 2 coverage and that is what I am most looking forward to listening to this upcoming season. Cheers!

  • Love the Show!

I look forward to Knights Who Say NISA every time it comes out! I think you add so much to the league and bring legitimacy and excitement to those of us that follow the league. Long live Dan, Dan, and John Howard-Fusco! We are the knights who say Ni!

The W Show - Cherry Bomb Nation!
Q: What can we expect from the Cherry Bombs on the field this season?
A team defined by a loud, energetic, community-driven ethos with a strong, growth-focused coaching staff, led by Janine Zbarza, who is building a pathway for young female coaches and a balance between fun and high-level competition.
The W Show - Cherry Bomb Nation!
Q: You mentioned recruitment—how has the recruitment process been for the inaugural season?
Recruitment starts with local talent and university players in various divisions, paired with strong connections Janine has with college coaches and club coaches; they're balancing training availability as players finish school, while expanding the roster through open tryouts and a clear bottom-up culture.
Protagonist Interviews: Jeff Attinella
Q: What role did mentorship and coaching play in your development and in your media transition?
Coaches, especially the Rowdies' coaches and the goalie coaches I had, shaped my understanding of the game, and after retiring I leaned into media opportunities that built on those relationships and on my broader communications education.
Protagonist Interviews: Jeff Attinella
Q: How did you transition from college to a pro career, especially with the Rowdies and MLS opportunities?
After not making the initial MLS roster, I called the Rowdies, who offered a roster spot. That move, alongside being seen by teams like RSL, helped me build a career where I could pursue MLS opportunities while remaining close to home.
Protagonist Interviews: Jeff Attinella
Q: Can you tell me about growing up in Tampa, your time at USF, and how you balanced amateur soccer with NCAA commitments?
I chose USF because they offered me the best chance to play at the highest level, and playing locally made balancing education and soccer practical. Summers with the Bradenton/IMG setup kept me sharp, exposed me to stronger competition, and prepared me for college seasons.
