World Cup coverage was extremely biased towards European and US teams. Spent only 10% of time on Latin American, African, Asian teams. Openly disparaging to teams like Argentina. Missed huge chance to broaden audience (for both this podcast and the sport in general) during World Cup and should be more attuned to audience.
Soccer talk is solid but can’t help mentioning woke leftist politics. One host even blamed US Men’s loss (and Knick’s 😝) on President Trump. I mean how I can take the rest serious?
I’ve been listening to TSS for years and it remains as insightful and enjoyable as ever. Love the focus on tactics and how the hosts resist sliding into cynicism.
Although a little stuck with allegiances to and grievances toward certain players (esp. JL), this is a relatively balanced (esp. GR) perspective on US Soccer and international football in general. Kudos for their exuberance, energy, and sense of humor.
A very enjoyable listen, though Joe, who seems like a really nice guy, can be a tough listen. Otherwise, great!
