Men in Blazers has lost what made it special. It used to offer excellent Premier League coverage, thoughtful interviews, and genuinely funny banter. Now it’s mostly forced comedy, relentless USMNT hype, repeated reminders of how “American” Rog is, and far too many ads. Rory Smith is the only reason I’m not giving it one star. More Rory, less Rog.
Went away from the podcast and recently returned. Was astounded at the amount of commercials. I know they gotta eat, but it’s to the point that I can’t get into the content anymore, making it a pass for me.
I don’t need to hear what the mayor of New York thinks about the World Cup. I’m usually on the opposing side of “keep politics out of sports.” But you are giving the guy free political ads. He has no more expertise than the average soccer fan. You are defacing your brand to give a politician more positive publicity. I don’t think I need that. I don’t like bootlicking.
Betty is back, finally !!?! Looking forward to following this 2026 WC with her every morning!!!
