  • THIS is what got me to finally write a review

I’ve been listening to your podcast religiously for years now. It’s interesting, sometimes edgy, but with content that checks all my boxes for what I want to hear about when it comes to soccer content. I don’t always agree with the takes, which I appreciate, but in general they are well thought out and substantiated, while for the most part refraining from the performative and lazy click-bait content that creates controversy. All that being said…..If you take away my “What are we watching” segm... more

  • Alexi is the problem

Used to be a fan, before Alexi became just another Republican cliche with a mic. Big ego with little substance. Makes Americans look bad to the world. Should have stuck with soccer instead of politics. Goodbye STOU pod

  • This podcast is not great

Lalas is an arrogant prick who is overly concerned with “hot takes.” There are way better US soccer podcasts out there. Don’t waste your time with this one.

  • More Stu Holden, less Alexi Lalas

Hard to listen to because Trump fan Alexi always gets political.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

FOX Sports FIFA World Cup Roundtable: USA Head Coaches
Q: What was the biggest challenge in bringing together a competitive US roster in the early World Cups discussed?
Balancing players across MLS and Europe, managing dual nationals, and aligning coaching staff around a shared roster philosophy while keeping the core team cohesive for the World Cup cycle.
Matarazzo’s Historic Trophy, Balogun’s Record Run, Pulisic's all-time low
Q: First up on X, Pablo Hijo de Juan asks, 'Hey Alexi, saw your cameo in Balls Up. Is this the start of a movie career?'
Alexi confirms a small acting cameo and describes it as a fun aside, noting it's not likely to become a major career pivot but staying open to opportunities that connect with his persona.
BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Soccer Sporting Director Matt Crocker heads to Saudi Arabia, Pulisic slump continues, Group of Death rankings
Q: Your thoughts on why Zendaya (Zendejas) isn't getting picked by the national team despite club success?
The hosts explain it's a subjective evaluation tied to the current national team configuration; club success doesn't always translate to national team needs, and selection is about fitting a specific system and roles rather than pure form.
50 Days Out Special: Ranking EVERY FIFA World Cup Team & Yamal OUT
Q: If it wasn't for the name on the back of his jersey, would we be starting Aaronson over Pulisic in the national team lineup?
They argue that Pulisic's status and quality would typically keep him in the starting lineup, but acknowledge Aaronson's improved form and potential tactical considerations; still, depth and pedigree favor Pulisic, though form can influence selection in unconventional ways.
Pochettino Roster Predictions, Pulisic cold, Balogun & McKennie stay hot
Q: What do you think is the most likely path for the final 26-man roster for the World Cup, given the March window results and player form?
The hosts suggest a mix of established starters and younger risk-takers, with the understanding that depth will matter and final decisions will come down to who is healthiest and who can contribute in multiple positions, especially in attack depth and midfield versatility.
