  • THIS is what got me to finally write a review

I’ve been listening to your podcast religiously for years now. It’s interesting, sometimes edgy, but with content that checks all my boxes for what I want to hear about when it comes to soccer content. I don’t always agree with the takes, which I appreciate, but in general they are well thought out and substantiated, while for the most part refraining from the performative and lazy click-bait content that creates controversy. All that being said…..If you take away my “What are we watching” segm... more

  • Alexi is the problem

Used to be a fan, before Alexi became just another Republican cliche with a mic. Big ego with little substance. Makes Americans look bad to the world. Should have stuck with soccer instead of politics. Goodbye STOU pod

  • This podcast is not great

Lalas is an arrogant prick who is overly concerned with “hot takes.” There are way better US soccer podcasts out there. Don’t waste your time with this one.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

U.S. World Cup X Factors, Pepi on fire, the legend of Cobi Jones
Q: What would be the shock inclusion for the World Cup roster and could a teenager break through?
They propose a few younger players could be involved as fringe selections, but emphasize that an experienced defender or a goaltender could be more impactful; likely a young player would need to show exceptional readiness in MLS or Europe.
U.S. World Cup X Factors, Pepi on fire, the legend of Cobi Jones
Q: Mike from Brooklyn asks about the two friendlies against Senegal and Germany and what they mean for the squad.
The hosts suggest these warmups are valuable for testing players but warn injuries can derail plans; results matter less than how players perform and how the coaching staff evaluates the roster coming into the World Cup.
USA All-Time World Cup Best XI, Pepi > Balogun & who steps up for Johnny?
Q: Based on Christian Pulisic's current form, should the team be built around Balogun or Pepi?
The hosts acknowledge Balogun as the incumbent striker but concede Pepi's rising form keeps him in the starting conversation; the consensus leans toward a platoon approach rather than a single focal point, with tactical flexibility depending on the opponent.
Tab Ramos on Pulisic's woes, Chris Klein on Galaxy exit & more
Q: What are the biggest challenges hosting World Cup games in multiple cities?
Meg Kane explains the tension between global FIFA expectations and the local Philadelphia experience, focusing on safety, transportation, FanFest, and city-specific branding to ensure authenticity while meeting global standards.
Richards & Aaronson injured, Messi drama & would Pep Guardiola take the USA job?
Q: Would Pep Guardiola be a feasible option for the US job?
They believe it would be a major coup if Guardiola is available, and they'd strongly consider taking the meeting to understand his thinking, despite the challenges of moving from club to international coaching.
