  • Stay above the yelling!

This show is my go to for all things MLS and has been a fantastic daily listen during the World Cup. Generally great dialogue between the hosts without devolving into talk radio type sound bites.

However, on the June 30 show it was really tough to listen to as the three hosts were yelling over each other, mostly about Japan. Please don’t become WFAN!!!

  • Good without the dumb leftist politics

Somehow FIFA, the global soccer organization, hasn't taken as its core mission to solve world racism, and David Gass can't handle it. He literally said they should be spending billions to solve it. So sick of NY and its millionaire socialists' political agenda being crammed into everything. Done listening to these fools.

  • Could be great

Tom and Doyle are GREAT to listen to and really wish they did this podcast on their own. Gass’s voice and what he brings to the podcast is horrible! This podcast has so much potential but Gass I can’t stomach listening to.

  • Great information and insight

Really enjoying this podcast! I gain a lot of information even though I am just coming back to soccer and really starting to follow the MLS. (Im an Orlando City fan). I learn a lot of about strategy and how teams play and just love the in depth analysis even if I don’t fully understand it yet. Keep up the good work!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

First Touch '26 World Cup Daily Show: USMNT Advance, Brazil Injury Concern & Paraguay's 10-Man Win
Q: How does the USMNT's performance affect their World Cup outlook going forward?
The hosts argue the team's recent form, depth, and crowd support suggest a real shot at advancing deep into the knockout rounds if they maintain momentum and manage suspensions and injuries.
First Touch ’26 World Cup Daily Show: Spain Dazzles, Belgium Disappoints & Cape Verde Does It Again
Q: What should be the US approach in the final group game with a long layoff?
Use a measured plan with minutes for key players on yellows, rest others, and bring on Baligan for impact late, while preserving Christian Pulisic's fitness for knockout potential.
Quakes v San Diego Preview w/Daniel Munie & US Recap w/Matt Doyle
Q: What was the point of the Portugal game given the lineup and tactical setup?
The hosts explain that the lineup was experimental and not representative of World Cup plans; the interviewees argue that the coach was testing a system, but that the approach lacked coherence and left players unsure of their roles.
MLS Too Early Takes w/Joe Lowery, USLPA CBA Negotiation w/Duke Lacroix & Brooklyn FC w/Marlon LeBlanc
Q: What are the core issues currently on the table in the USLPA-CBA discussions?
Housing being counted towards base compensation, minimum salary standards, and how buyouts and housing affect players' total earnings are central. There is also concern about the financial realities of clubs and ensuring protections so players aren't left exposed if teams fold, with guardrails for future growth.
Groundbreaking NWSL Offseason + Chris Armas (KC)
Q: What has the last two months of your life been like?
Chris Armas explained the whirlwind nature of transitioning to the KC current, managing a hip surgery while preparing for his new role.
