Reviews

4.3 out of 5 stars from 4.8k ratings
  • It’s… fine

It’s all about “takes” and narratives without much interesting analysis or tactics. There’s too much focus on Big 6 prem teams and little coverage of other leagues or smaller teams. There’s an episode a week on Chelsea or Liverpool, but nothing on exciting competent clubs like Bournemouth or Sunderland.

  • Insightful guests, poor host

The guests are always top-notch and offer great perspectives and expertise. The host brings nothing to the table besides giggling at his own jokes and cutting the guests off when they are making interesting points.

  • Lost its way

Used to love the pod but what with the Athletic doing away with ad free listening for subscribers and the amount of betting ads now in the episodes, feels they have sold their souls for a quick buck. Probably shouldn’t be surprised being a US company. I’ve now found better alternatives out there such as Libero and bbc football daily
