I’m 27 and have probably heard Barry’s voice on the radio for about 10 years I reckon. I’ve been a regular listener to the podcast since before the move to three episodes a week but I’ve found listening increasingly like a chore in recent seasons.
Max is a fine host and I appreciate Barry’s humour more than most people but while the regular panelists are mostly likeable, they offer little insight other than basic analysis and mundane opinions. Sometimes this podcast is compelling for weeks on end with fresh takes and real insight into football. Other times they just seem to talk about the same players and same 6 clubs everyone else covers. Was gutted that we’ve had a two week international break and not a single EFL episode in that time.
