I’m a relatively recent listener to this podcast, but have enjoyed its extensive coverage of Britain’s finest medieval fort, Warwick Castle. My favourite recurring feature is when Joe speculates which flammable structure within the Warwickshire area may have been destroyed by its trebuchet. Fine work all round.
I am a big fan of this podcast. But if this review is going to a slack channel at the athletic I just need to ask “when did Joe start watching football”. He used to laughibly be the guy with either no take or a randomly odd take and now he’s holding his own and like making great points.
Jokes aside, this podcast is one of the best things in my life (and I live a really good life). May you all getting doubled pay for the double joy you bring me!
I’ve listened to this podcast for 4 years and with the exception of the year without Joe as host (yawn) it has never failed to be the best football podcast out there. It’s the perfect antidote to the stiff overly journalistic coverage that so many podcasts put out. We love Jon but I am glad he is back on Joe’s leash.
Take ‘Sunday Brunch’, make it about football, add a heap of incisiveness, a large serving of tactical know-how, an extra sprinkle of fun, some heads of hair… and you have this wonderful frothy podcast delivering keen football insight on the regular.
