Alumni packed their cars and headed to Regina for their day in court as our stayed civil action was argued before the Court of Appeal. Our legal team: Grant Scharfstein, Samuel Edmondson, Michael Scharfstein, and Christine Libner, faced counsel for t... more
After decades of referring politely to what was called the volleyball incident, justice finally set the record straight. It was not an "incident." It was an assault on the volleyball team.
For years, euphemisms softened the story. Language blurred ... more
This week's episode is unhinged in the most revealing way. We're talking to an alum who was pregnant in high school at the school, because apparently "Christian education" meant shame with a side of silence. And in a plot twist absolutely no one shou... more
Today's episode is a little different than usual, because instead of a guest, we're featuring our very own cease-and-desist letter. Yes, we were legally threatened by a former leader at our old church who quietly moved away, rebranded themselves, and... more

It’s heartbreaking to hear what students suffered and still have to work through but it has been incredibly insightful and informative on how such systems work. I learned a lot for myself and to keep vigilant about signs of abusive systems.
As a father of three kids it’s absolutely heartbreaking to find out kids were abused in what should of been a safe place. It’s also heartbreaking to see how our government has handled this. I feel terrible for all those hurt and I applaud the strength of the voices on this podcast for coming forward and not giving up on l... more
I just found the podcast and started listening because I have a friend that went to that school. I wanted to start listening as a way to show support for all of you as well as to follow the case as there has not been a lot of news lately.
Last year shortly before all the news started breaking I was starting to look for a church to attend in that neighbourhood. I tried many churches in the area as well as that one, but after the news broke I decided I would look at different churches. I found o... more
Thank you for clarifying so many issues. I will share this podcast with everybody I know. I hope you are all healing as you work through advancing your case. Flantlander
I was subjected to an ACE indoctrination center from grade 7 till graduation in the early 80’s. Thank you for sticking up to these bullies and sharing your experiences with us. Whenever I see a homeless person I realize there is little justice because the only fitting justice for the monsters from these cults is to literally to have no other earthly possessions than what would fit in a shopping car.

Survivor-led investigations into abusive systems within evangelical education, focusing on a high-profile class-action lawsuit and the stories of former students. The show combines personal testimony with legal and institutional analysis, and often features multi-episode arcs that interweave courtroom developments with the survivors' healing journeys. A notable strength is the ongoing, transparent dialogue among former students and allies, plus a willingness to challenge institutional power and public narratives surrounding faith-based schooli... more
