  • Thoughtful

I have been really enjoying the show, thoughtful and exposing of different types of manipulation and coercion. Coercive Control really needs to become a federal crime so these groups can be stopped earlier. Learning a lot!

  • Great Podcast and Best Theme Song EVER

I’d join a cult for that awesome theme song. This podcast is fascinating and informative. The hosts have great banter and, because of their own experience, have great discussions with the guests. I appreciate the wisdom and humor!

One particularly poignant statement was from Andrew-Ryan on the Love has won episodes. He said “ cults aren’t really fringe- they are a magnified version of what society already does which is sell fear, sell belonging, and punish doubt.” WOW. Just wow. So true. We ... more

  • Sofia May interview-very impressed

I’m very impressed with Sarah and Nippy giving Sofia May a platform to tell her story. She was bold in a way that was so incredibly refreshing. I don’t always agree with Sarah and Nippy, but I’m still here listening because you are willing to listen to all survivors and experts. I have been personally helped by past guests including both their experience and expertise.

  • Had high hopes, but now…

I originally had belief that this brave couple would become important voices in the lexicon of modern cult awareness, and perhaps if Sarah were to cut loose, she still will. But Nippy’s ongoing refusal to wrestle with concepts of his radical levels of privilege (‘I don’t engage with that white male privilege stuff’), unwillingness to stand a clear political stand against radical human rights abuses (‘both sides are equally bad’), and strangely coded language that indicates plenty of libertarian/... more

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ashtanga Yoga After Pattabhi Jois: Magnolia Zuniga on Consent, Adjustment, and Real Healing (Part 2)
Q: Why is it difficult to leave or challenge the system when you have certification and community support?
Because certification and social capital create layers of legitimacy and belonging, people fear losing status, income, and social networks, which makes it hard to acknowledge or confront wrongdoing.
Ashtanga Yoga After Pattabhi Jois: Magnolia Zuniga on Consent, Adjustment, and Real Healing (Part 2)
Q: What were the red flags you noticed first in the Ashtanga community?
The first major red flag was the admission by insiders that there had been sexual abuse under the guise of 'adjustments,' which highlighted how power dynamics could mask harm and entrench abuse within the system.
Through the NXIVM Lens: Photographer Bjorn Bolinder on V-Week, Branding, and Seeing the Light (Part 1)
Q: Tell us about how you first got recruited and what drew you into ESP.
I met Coach V during a photo gig, felt drawn to the promise of growth and belonging, and despite recognizing costs, I decided to enroll after realizing the potential personal transformation could be real for me.
Through the NXIVM Lens: Bjorn Bolinder on V-Week, Branding, and Seeing the Light (Part 2)
Q: How did the end of his involvement unfold, and what led to leaving the organization?
He recounts an interior conflict during a particularly intense SOP/coach progression, followed by a firm decision to exit after a final meeting and a breakup conversation with his coach, aided by his spiritual guidance and personal boundaries.
Through the NXIVM Lens: Bjorn Bolinder on V-Week, Branding, and Seeing the Light (Part 2)
Q: What were Bjorn's early red flags beyond the initial drive with Proctor E?
Bjorn describes a creeping discomfort with the culture and the constant push toward new commitments, culminating in a decisive moment where his intuition told him to walk away even as he was being drawn deeper into 'coaching' roles.
