  • Pain relief

Tara, I’ve been having pain in my back for well over 6 months.

The medical field has essentially become useless.

Their ideas are stuck in the past and seldom do physicians think outside the box.

But you do my Dear Tara.

I listened to an archived podcast today on pain.

And I can truly say my pain has improved.

I felt like my life was disappearing and my person was getting small.

Thank you for all you do; your loving & kindness goes a long way 💙

  • Question for Tara

While listening to a recent episode, I found myself yearning to hear a conversation between you and Brene Brown. While your work and hers share some similarities I couldn’t find any direct conversation between the two of you and that would be so interesting and powerful.

Ask Me Anything (Part 1): Fear, Self-Compassion, Grief, Trauma & Awakening
Q: How can someone begin to navigate grief after a significant loss, while supporting others who are also grieving?
Honor the depth of love that fuels the grief, allow the pain to move through the body with presence, and tend to others with gentle care while acknowledging that grief has its own organic timeline. The guidance emphasizes meeting the moment with tenderness, creating space for the feeling, and recognizing that the love remains even as the loss is felt.
Ask Me Anything (Part 1): Fear, Self-Compassion, Grief, Trauma & Awakening
Q: How do you approach healing from shame and self-hatred when self-compassion feels undeserved?
Start by acknowledging the pain without collapsing into self-pity, recognizing that the hurt is real. Then widen the perspective to imagine a loving presence (the Divine Mother, God, or another figure) that can hold the hurting self. Over time, this larger view reduces identification with the self-hating voice and allows genuine tenderness and self-compassion to arise.
Ask Me Anything (Part 1): Fear, Self-Compassion, Grief, Trauma & Awakening
Q: What is the most important thing to remember when fear and anxiety take over?
The most important step is to acknowledge the experience as it is, with the phrase 'It's like this right now,' which helps acknowledge reality, create space around the fear, and open up to respond with kindness toward oneself, eventually recognizing that we are the awareness witnessing the fear rather than being defined by it.
Ask Me Anything (Part 1): Fear, Self-Compassion, Grief, Trauma & Awakening
Q: What is the ultimate goal in mindfulness meditation, and how should one relate to goals versus aspiration?
The host explains that goals are useful for signaling desired outcomes but can create forward-leaning tension and a sense that what you seek isn't here. Aspirations, by contrast, are the heart's deepest longing to realize presence and love in the current moment, inviting a spacious, non-grasping engagement with life. In practice, one can differentiate by pausing to sense what matters in this moment and allowing presence to guide behavior, rather than chasing a future endpoint.
This Messy, Gorgeous Love—a Conversation with Tara and Devon and Nico Hase
Q: How do you handle major ruptures or disagreements without breaking trust?
By acknowledging different needs, co-regulating, giving space when needed, and using structured practices like check-ins and RAIN to repair and reconnect.
