I understand why everyone loves Joel. He’s a fabulous oral speaker and teacher and he gives people good ways to live their lives through the Bible. However, the overwhelming focus and framing is to focus is on yourself. He teaches that you’re good enough. That God loves you no matter what you do. That God simply winks his eye and shrugs his shoulders at certain sins like they’re no big deal. If that’s the case, then there is no reason Jesus had to come and die on a cross. If you enjoy Osteen good for you. I find his brand of preaching plastic and lacking depth in a lot of areas. I’ve heard increasingly concerning issues of him profiting off his ministries and making it a lot about him and not about Jesus Christ - even possibly trading on the name of Christ. As a result, this podcast is hard to absorb at all. If people find their faith enriched, great.
