  • Always a great perspective

I rely on Dr Mohler to highlight the key news story and bringing a Christian perspective. Dr Mohler is a machine - not sure how he can be so prolific.

  • From a dispensationalist, fundamentalist, MAGA world view

Trump had a profanity laced tirade on Easter and Mohler decided to critique the character of the pope whose message was one of peace and love. This is par for the course for Mohler. It seems as long as you say Jesus and are against abortion/LGBT you can do no wrong.

  • Thoughtful and biblical

Have listened to Mohler for years and very grateful for his learned take on historical and political happenings. He is first and foremost an unapologetic bible believing Christian and his baptist theology influences his exegesis. This is a very good thing even if I am more reformed! He has another podcast of interviews with many Christian thought leaders from different theological backgrounds and it is always a joy to listen. Thank you Al for helping me think critically through all the political... more

Talking Points

Q: In a Southern Baptist context, should pastors remain the only ones who baptize, or can the congregation authorize others to perform baptisms, given the emphasis on teaching and elder responsibilities?
Mohler explains that Baptists view baptism as a congregational act and a teaching ordinance; ordination is not a special class, but a recognition of calling, and the elders or pastors are generally responsible for authorizing baptisms, while the key point is that the church must preserve the teaching function of the ordinance.

Q: I often hear artificial intelligence compared to the industrial revolution because of how it will transform job sectors and our overall view of work in society. Is it legitimate to see AI as a new printing press, and what are the key distinctions between machine-generated text and human-created text?
Mohler argues that AI is not merely a copy of human authors; unlike the printing press, which reproduced human-created text, AI generates content, raising concerns about consciousness and the difference between machine-produced ideas and human-generated ideas, and emphasizing the need for careful regulation and clear distinction between human and machine intelligence.

Q: What is your view on how voting rights should be distributed today?
There is no biblical mandate that requires a specific household voting structure; I support the extension of franchise to both men and women, with individuals voting as citizens rather than by household, and I consider this arrangement the right pattern for the United States.
Friday, May 15, 2026
Q: Does God really love the whole world, and if so, what does that mean in the context of salvation and predestination?
God loves all humanity as His creation, but salvation is received by faith in Christ; the discussion distinguishes between gospel truth and theological systems like Calvinism, affirming the accessibility of salvation while acknowledging differing internal explanations about how grace operates.
Friday, May 15, 2026
Q: Should Christians view moral stigma as a useful tool to promote certain societal norms, or should it be discouraged?
Shame should be attached to sin as a moral category, used to encourage righteous behavior, while avoiding shaming individuals; the Gospel reframes shame through Christ's imputed righteousness for believers.
