The biggest most nonsensical element of this story, set in this otherworldly backward (to the point of dystopian) US area, is the blatant absence of police standard practices - no investigation over Charles’s death? I love everything about this podcast except the bit where she starts the episode by asking Lori’s adult nephew if he needs to use the bathroom. I get that podcasters love adding colour and atmosphere but seriously… I wonder if he expected the world to know that he had just used the bathroom and didn’t need to go again.
