  • What an unexpected (dark and haunting) gem!

I wasn't sure if this series would be any good having no reviews, but it was fully gripping just moments in! These are dark, deranged, and absolutely horrible true stories that were masterfully written and narrated into a truly fascinating listen! If you like true crime, absolutely give this series a go!

  • Gripping narratives

For being a narrative storytelling style, this podcast keeps my attention better than some others. The narrator’s voice is so silky smooth, and she tells these horrific stories in a way that keeps you hooked on her every word. Not to mention, being from the US, I love her UK accent, she’s easy to listen to. The sound production is top notch, and although the stories are awful, it’s good to keep them alive for the victim’s sake, so maybe we can all keep ourselves a bit safer and more aware of the... more

  • I rarely give one-star reviews, so here's why. This podcast seems like a fairly standard episode-about-a-different-serial-killer type podcast, and as such it's not badly produced or structured, although the blurb about "For the first time, a network of 600 of these journalists have invited us into the darkest recesses of their world. They’ve shared stories of some of the most disturbing cases ever reported, past and present" seems a bit misleading. It's the same narrative voice each time, and if... more

  • Not very good

Thinks it’s a lot better than it is. Wallows in unpleasant detail in an unpleasant way. Lots of speculation so not really even true crime. Strange and rather tasteless.

  • Cringe

Why does the narrator speak like Cate Blanchett at the beginning of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring?

It’s total cringe. Not only is her delivery utterly ridiculous the actual writing is like something you’d expect from 14 year-old discovering true crime for the first time. Some of the worst metaphors and similes I’ve ever heard.

    Avoid at all costs, folks!
