This use to be one of my favorite podcasts. I appreciate learning about the cases that are outside the US. In the past year or so, it seems far less time is spend on the happenings prior going to court (background context, victims, community, investigation, perpetrator arrest) and now too much time is spent simply stating the back-&-forth narrative in the courtroom. The courtroom part used to be maybe 20% of an episode, now it feels more like 65% of an episode. It drags on too long.

Just tried to get into one episode but the intonation sounds almost definitely like an AI is reading it; it’s robotic and not pleasant. Maybe the earlier episodes weren’t like this but it’s a pain to scroll back on this app.

I used to subscribe to this show, but it no longer appeals to me as the cases are now more like human interest than true crime. I mentioned this in Patreon comments and they ORDERED me to stop making comments! I apologised and said I only meant to give feedback. I was never rude. Very thin-skinned people. 😬 Anyway, it is well-produced if their topics appeal to you so try it.

I used to listen to this podcast all the time and liked the narrators monotone voice. Decided to listen again after a couple years and the voice has absolutely changed and I’m 99% sure Yedcakes is right and this is some sort of text to speech AI based on the original narrators voice. Impossible to listen to now as the voice sounds so unnatural!
