I enjoy true crime stories and I do enjoy this podcast. I have knocked off 1 star because of the pronunciation of words. I’ve just listened to a story where ‘papyrus’ was pronounced ‘pappyrus’ and another one where ‘catarrh’ was pronounced ‘cat-ar’ as if it were 2 words. I understand not everyone knows how to pronounce certain words, but surely if you’re broadcasting you would check your pronunciations before recording.

I very much enjoy the host’s accents and his British turn of phrase. Though his pronunciation is often very wrong, especially with names. It is not hard to find out how place names are pronounced or to research the most common pronunciation of names but he just plunges ahead with his incorrect versions. Listening to him ruin “Mairead” in one story over and over and over almost had me screaming! The content is very standard.
