There were signs that things were not right at home for 12-year-old Lori Paige. Not just tiny ones: blazing red flags that followed her all her life. She came to school without shoes. She was hit with a belt in front of her classmates. She cried to f... more
On April 29th, 1998, Houston Police dragged Charles Victor Thompson out of his ex-girlfriend’s apartment, where he had started a fight with her new boyfriend. Charles was a jealous man, a drunk man, but the police didn’t think he was a killer. At lea... more

This is an interesting, comprehensive show but the editing makes it hard to listen to. You have to listen through 5 minutes of "Mongolian cashmere" and "online therapy" ads before anything gets started. The show is interrupted not just in the middle of sentences but in the middle of words! And then long pauses where you think you've turned it off by mistake. There are long long police interviews, 911 calls, and body cam arrest audio that could shorten the episodes in a beneficial way. Careless m... more
Love you guys and I can tell you put a lot of time and research into each episode, but Colin please stick to true crime!! The ad for this episode bordered on cringe lol
I genuinely look forward to my morning walks and longer drives because it means I get to listen to Murder in America. It’s become part of my daily routine, and honestly, it makes those quiet moments something I really enjoy.

Really love this podcast and will continue to listen! I can tell a lot of time and heart goes into these episodes which I love!! But I can’t help but notice there is almost always some type of CPS hate. As someone that works in that field, I hate the constant negativity towards it. I agree there are some cases that get missed or overlooked but there are situations I feel that are humanly impossible to catch during an investigation. I don’t believe Department should have all of the blame and that... more
Well-researched and lengthy episodes, and an exceptional variety of cases covered (I was pleasantly surprised - shocked! - to discover cases that I hadn’t even heard of). I discovered the pod while searching for coverage of the Andrea Yates case, and immediately subscribed. The balanced inclusion of media clips and immersive sound effects make it stand-out. A great addition to any true-crime aficionado’s podcast playlist.
