  • The Conversation Hour

I enjoy listening to the conversations about nature and the environment, however it is very annoying the way that the women talks over and cuts off the guests and her co-host.

The push to save the Don Bosco Youth Centre
Q: What does the Don Bosco sale mean for local families who rely on the centre for free or low-cost activities?
Residents and parents stressed that the centre provides a safe, inclusive space for kids and acts as a social hub; the fear is that sale to private developers could erode this community asset unless measures are taken to preserve the space or repurpose it while retaining public access.
Have we forgotten how to behave at the theatre?
Q: What practical steps could venues take to improve the theatre experience?
Consider pre-show etiquette messages, possibly banning noisy packaging, and encouraging polite, considerate interactions; ushers could play a key role in setting expectations.
Have we forgotten how to behave at the theatre?
Q: Is theatre etiquette getting worse, or are we just noticing it more?
Jodie explains that behavior overall is deteriorating due to device addiction, not just theatre etiquette; she advocates for mindful, respectful communication and quieter public behavior.
Have we forgotten how to behave at the theatre?
Q: Do you think Rosamund Pike was right to address the audience after that incident?
Jodie Bash-McLean says we need to remind rather than chastise; awareness and polite, constructive conversations help maintain respect in shared spaces, and reminders at the start of performances could set expectations.
Fighting the shame around being scammed
Q: What can victims do first when they realize they've been scammed?
They should contact consumer protection bodies and legal aid, review any contracts carefully, and reach out to helplines and appropriate authorities for guidance and potential recourse.
