  • You are a book club?

But you are mad that book one of a TRILOGY doesn’t give you the answers you want??? Yet you are ok with a tv show leaving you hanging because you can continue watching it? Lazy. You are a book club so read the rest of the series! And you have at least one female listening, so stop with p$&sy and p@rn talk.

  • On a 10 point scale it’s a 9.78!

I’m leaving this written review in lieu of holding eye contact on a video review. I stumbled on this podcast while rereading some favorite books. I enjoy the format and congeniality of hosts. It is a very friendly but respectful commentary on themes and qualities of the stories. Thanks for keeping up the good work and look forward to lots more episodes

  • Review

2 hard core sci fi geeks who really enjoy each others company, both of them can be quite funny and a lot of very interesting thoughts given. First time I listened to the show I listened for 5 straight hours with an occasional giggle and smirk from them. Worth listening to for sure. Shall be a regular listener

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Great Silence (Exhalation) by Ted Chiang
Q: How did you overall feel about this one, Abu?
I feel much the same as you. I too won't go so far as to say this is one of the better stories in this collection. I do think it's one of the weaker ones, but I think it's short.
Dacey's Patent Automatic Nanny (Exhalation) by Ted Chiang
Q: What do you think of technology's impact on children?
Technology's impact is complicated; parents need to supervise its use to maximize benefits and minimize potential harm.
Dacey's Patent Automatic Nanny (Exhalation) by Ted Chiang
Q: Did this short story leave an impression on you?
The story was interesting, but it felt more simple and smaller in scope compared to other stories in the collection which raised deeper philosophical questions.
Murderbot (Episode 3)
Q: How is the pace working for you?
The pacing is tough, very slow and rough, with few plot developments.
The Three-Body Problem (Remembrance of Earth's Past #1) by Liu Cixin I Ch. 4-6
Q: What are your predictions for where the story might go?
It seems clear that the frontiers of science have had or do have some sort of contact with aliens, and the knowledge of these aliens is super DEFCON 1, ultra top secret.
