  • Negative

Too negative. I wanted to like this podcast but 3 of the last 4 have been doctor bashing. How disappointing. I am a physician. I work so hard to take excellent care of my patients. All I have heard from your guests is how poorly a job we do taking care of people. You’ve lost me. Stay in your lane.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

262. Midlife Anxiety: Doing All the Right Things… and Still Feeling On Edge| Dr. Nicole Cain
Q: What practical steps can someone take in a few minutes to calm the nervous system?
Practice presence with the breath, extend the exhale to stimulate the vagus nerve, engage grounding touches, and avoid rushing to fix—allow the body's signals to be acknowledged and processed instead.
262. Midlife Anxiety: Doing All the Right Things… and Still Feeling On Edge| Dr. Nicole Cain
Q: How can midlife women distinguish true anxiety from being chronically overwhelmed or exhausted?
There are nuanced presentations and a nine-type framework that helps tailor investigations and treatments to the individual's primary drivers, such as gut-related anxiety versus cognitive anxiety, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
262. Midlife Anxiety: Doing All the Right Things… and Still Feeling On Edge| Dr. Nicole Cain
Q: Why is the healthcare system so siloed, and how does that affect midlife women with anxiety?
Silos persist because doctors specialize deeply, but collaboration across endocrine, GI, neurology, and mental health can create a more accurate, holistic view of a patient's symptoms, leading to better, integrated care.
244. The Surprising Benefits of Aqua Yoga for Midlife Women / Christa Fairbrother
Q: How does water change the way we build strength and protect joints for midlife bodies?
She explains buoyancy offloads weight, allowing muscle engagement with less joint impact, and how water's viscosity increases muscular effort, enabling effective workouts even for those with osteopenia or osteoporosis.
244. The Surprising Benefits of Aqua Yoga for Midlife Women / Christa Fairbrother
Q: What sparked Christa's interest in aqua yoga and how did her journey begin?
Christa talks about her active lifestyle, a health crisis involving autoimmune diagnoses, and how those experiences led her to deepen her yoga practice and eventually teach aqua yoga to people with arthritis.
