  • The advice woman over 40 need

I really appreciate the straightforwardness approach of JJ. She genuinely seems like she wants her audience to succeed and is willing to say the thing they need to hear (not necessarily what they want to hear). Thanks for doing what you do!

  • Osteoporosis to osteopenia

Hi JJ, I love your podcast and you share such great wisdom from yourself and your guests! I wanted you to know that by following a low carb higher protein diet, lifting weights and taking bio identical HRT.. I have able to reversed my t-score from -3.7 to -2.4! I’m not totally out of the woods, but I’m so happy things are falling into place! Thanks for all you give!

How Dr. Doug Lucas Reverses Osteoporosis Naturally in Women
Q: What is the role of imaging like DEXA versus newer modalities in managing bone health?
DEXA provides density measurements but has margins of error; newer tools like REMS and bone turnover markers can offer additional, more dynamic insight into bone quality and metabolism when used alongside DEXA.
How Dr. Doug Lucas Reverses Osteoporosis Naturally in Women
Q: Is bone loss truly reversible, or is it inevitable with aging?
Dr. Lucas explains that bone loss is not an unchangeable destiny; with aggressive lifestyle changes, diet, protein intake, hormones, and targeted exercise, bone density can plateau or improve, reducing fracture risk.
Why Muscle Matters More Than the Scale
Q: Rose Gold asks about inflammation related to lifting; how to interpret it?
Acute inflammatory responses after workouts are normal and typically resolve; chronic inflammation would be shown in biomarkers like hs-CRP, IL‑6, or creatinine changes and should be evaluated with a clinician.
Why Muscle Matters More Than the Scale
Q: Maria asks how many days of resistance training per week is ideal?
Two days per week targeting upper body pushing, upper body pulling, and hip/thigh hinging with two sets initially, progressing to warm-up and two working sets per exercise for meaningful muscle adaptation.
Why Muscle Matters More Than the Scale
Q: Kathy O'Brien asks, how can you best measure your muscle at home?
Use a bioimpedance scale to estimate fat-free mass and fat mass, track total body water, and look for a rising fat-free mass trend while fat mass declines; pair this with functional tests like grip strength, push‑ups, and squats to gauge muscle quality.
