    Tried to

Listen to one episode and never heard a speaker say “like” so constantly as the guest, and then the host started. Argh! Such a shame as interesting topic.

  • Loved It! 🥰

I guess from your conversation I really never knew how to correctly apologize. I feel this will indeed help me in all aspects of my life. I definitely will have more empathy for others because they too may be having the same struggles with apologizing as I do. May my relationships recover from this new knowledge and that I maybe a better human with practice and much self compassion. Thank you for your work you all are doing. 😍😍🫶🏽

  • Great content!

I love the content of this show. I binged the first 13 episodes this weekend. There are a few people complaining about the ads, but you can fast forward or skip those. So I don’t see that as a problem. I enjoy the content. Chris, you are a great interviewer and I love the guests on this show so far. I’m going to continue listening.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The right risks to take for a great career (w/ Molly Graham) (video)
Q: You've talked about the J curve as a way to think about career moves. How did that idea shape your decisions, especially when you moved from HR to building a mobile phone project?
The J curve encourages embracing a period of seeming stagnation or confusion at the bottom, followed by a leap to new capabilities and later progress; it framed the pivot to the mobile project as a deliberate learning journey rather than a risky gamble.
The right risks to take for a great career (w/ Molly Graham) (video)
Q: And Molly, can you tell me a little bit about what the stairs are and why this career model feels like something we should rethink?
The stairs model assumes a linear, upward path with clear promotions, which often doesn't reflect how work actually unfolds or what truly matters to people; it can trap you in a rigid definition of success.
Want to change your life? Start small! (w/ Eric Zimmer)
Q: Can you tell people a little bit about how those tie together into the meaning piece?
There are two components: the structural side (what am I doing, where am I doing it, how) and the emotional side that determines whether we actually follow through, which is where self-compassion and mindset come into play to give meaning to the actions.
How to find your purpose (w/ Yara Shahidi) (video)
Q: How do you balance your identities as a student and a performer, and how has that shaped your sense of purpose?
Space to explore multiple interests allowed me to grow beyond a single role; integrating education, activism, and art created more life experience to draw from in my work and in defining what matters.
How to find your purpose (w/ Yara Shahidi) (video)
Q: What practical tips would you offer for people feeling the weight of possibility closing in on them?
Turn to history and to conversations with others who have faced long arcs of change; cultivate your own 'hard yes' list to anchor you in joy and actionable next steps.
