  • Workplace communication episode

The “simple solution to fix workplace communication” episode was literally the most terrible business advice ever. It amounted to ridiculous levels of pandering to the whims of each employee and would be a nightmare to implement. Totally unrealistic.

Sunday Pick: Finding Purpose: Why you should stop chasing your “dream job” (w/ Emily the Recruiter) | Fixable
Q: What is the awake job and why is it important?
The awake job is a way to view work as one part of life that actively fits into your validation, your purpose, and your lifestyle, while also meeting financial needs, which helps prevent over-identification with a single job and builds resilience.
Why you fear the unknown — and what it can teach you | Maya Shankar, Simone Stolzoff
Q: In a world that demands answers, what's the one question we can ask ourselves in the exact moment we don't know, to turn discomfort into curiosity and a clear next step?
Choose a question that connects the choice to your values and identity, helping you stand by the decision even if the outcome isn't perfect.
We’re keeping the ocean wild — and you can join us | Sylvia A. Earle
Q: What role can individuals play in protecting the ocean?
She encourages people to identify their unique gifts and take action, from trash collection on beaches to supporting marine protected areas and technological tools that map and monitor habitats.
Sunday Pick: The Data Center Next Door with Dr. Jacoby Wilson | from TED Tech
Q: What does a 'digital sacrifice zone' look like in 2026, and what are the externalities involved?
The externalities include air pollutants from gas turbines, water use and thermal pollution, and broader energy and environmental justice concerns that affect the health and daily life of nearby residents, especially in communities of color.
What sitting all day does to your brain and body | Keith Diaz | Your Body on Tech
Q: How do you think this research should inform workplace policies?
Employers should recognize that breaks can boost engagement and productivity; integrating walking meetings, flexible movement-friendly spaces, and reminders tied to daily tasks can help normalize movement without sacrificing performance.
