  • Good podcast potential, bad audio

The program is often interesting, but the audio needs engineering, better mic, compression, EQ. Ryan’s voice is too tinny. In the February 6, 2026 episode his guest audio just dropped out for 20 seconds…why not just edit that out. Also there were times when both the host and guest were echoing. Wear headphones? The gain on the audio is too low, I have to crank up the volume and then ads blast in at random times with typical compression (way louder than the podcast volume)…really annoying.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

George Bryant on Being Seen, Survival, and the Cost of Hiding
Q: When did you become aware, self-aware enough to give rational commentary on moments that were not rational at the time?
He explains that dissonance between his self-narrative and actions was only reconciled after a trigger event (his ex-wife's pregnancy and near-bankruptcy). The external catalyst forced him to stop rationalizing and start doing the work, leading to sustained self-awareness and candid reflection.
Space Investor: SpaceX Is Only 20% of the Opportunity
Q: What role does regulation play in the space economy?
Regulation is more defined for communications and geo-regulated spectrum but is still developing for Earth observation and other space activities. Effective governance will be essential as more players operate in space and as data from space becomes critical infrastructure.
Space Investor: SpaceX Is Only 20% of the Opportunity
Q: What are the near-term realities in space investment beyond SpaceX?
Space is expanding into practical, Earth-facing applications. Earth observation, space-based data infrastructure, and energy from space are moving from concept to investable realities, with concrete companies and regulatory paths beginning to mature.
The AI Trap: Why Buying More Tech Won’t Fix Your Broken Business
Q: How real is the AI capability you're building at Optios, and how do you prove its value in real-world tasks?
We show measurable improvements by linking physiological brain and eye data to performance metrics across domains, then use AI to close the loop and guide learning and decision-making in real time.
Your Portfolio Is a Fingerprint of Your Personality | Jim Lebenthal
Q: How important is it to maintain a journal or record of investment decisions?
Very important; it provides context for why decisions were made, helps you learn from mistakes, and supports ongoing refinement of your investment process.
