  • Thank you!

This podcast has changed my life for the better. I thought I would look like a sausage after 50 after being slim and trim all my life. I’ve been taking the advice and my body is looking and feeling better after 4 weeks.

This is a just ok podcast. It’s slow moving and repetitive on many levels.

  • Information is good

This information is good but the lead in and back story to get to any substance runs 12-15 minutes. I stopped listening and read the transcript. Just too much extra talking and repeating ones self makes in unbearable for me to listen

  • A Host Who Truly Gets Women’s Health

It was such a joy to join Debra on this episode! She asks thoughtful, insightful questions and creates space for deeper conversations about women’s health—far beyond the surface. I loved exploring how hidden bladder microbiome imbalances can impact menopause, inflammation, and whole-body wellness. Debra is a skilled host who truly empowers women with knowledge. Highly recommend this show!

  • Great content, audio quality is poor

I love this podcast but I can’t give it a 5 star because the audio quality is really poor. I don’t know what’s happening when Debra is recording but there are so many clocks and taps that it is distracting. It’s like someone is typing on the keyboard when they are on speaker on a zoom call. Please fix. Otherwise the topics are very timely and appropriate to middle aged women. No hard sell on products, just sage advice.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Lasting Weight Loss After 50: Say Goodbye to Diets
Q: What did you learn from losing more than 100 pounds and maintaining that loss for over 15 years?
The guest emphasizes that lasting change comes from rebuilding self-trust, understanding personal triggers, and shifting focus from rapid weight loss to sustainable habits and mindset, rather than relying on extreme diets.
5 Community Fitness Questions from Women 50+
Q: What are the best exercises and how often for toned arms?
Arm appearance is influenced by overall body composition and resistance training; prioritize compound movements for larger muscle groups and incorporate some arm work, but do not overdo arm training daily; integrate cardio and total-body workouts for best results.
5 Community Fitness Questions from Women 50+
Q: Time is my biggest obstacle. Can I do shorter 20-minute workouts more regularly?
Yes, you can, but you should include a proper warm-up (5-7 minutes) and a cool-down; a 10-minute workout can be done as a tri-set of three exercises, or combine short sessions across the week to accumulate enough stimulus.
5 Community Fitness Questions from Women 50+
Q: What is true about resistance training frequency recommendations?
Science supports two to three sessions per week to stimulate major muscle groups; if you love training and recover well, you can train more, but recovery becomes critical in perimenopause and postmenopause, so listening to your body is essential.
5 Community Fitness Questions from Women 50+
Q: Should I eat before or after workouts?
Protein timing matters less if you're well-fed throughout the day, but having a small protein-containing snack (about 12-15 grams) before a workout can help preserve muscle, especially for peri- and postmenopausal women, without needing a full meal.
