  • So Helpful!

Just finished listening to the most recent episode about keeping in touch with clients. This is the first podcast episode I’ve ever saved and I plan on listening to it a couple times. Thank you PPA for the photography business content you put up here. The photography side is the easy side for me, it’s this side of my business I need the most help with.

  • Most insightful delivery of what professional photography is about!!!

Just listened to Defining your style - Building a purpose-driven photography business with Tim Walden…. Tim clearly explains the difference between taking a picture, and capturing a memory that lasts a lifetime. I learned more about photography as a business in this episode than I could have imagined.

Amazing episode. Worth a second or third listen!

    Thanks!

I’ve been watching since the first show, and so far I love all the content so far! Pat it was great to meet you at Imaging last year for your talk, and I just love your ethic, and infectious positivity. I love all the education on helping me grow my photography business, and would to learn more about improving client experience and sales! That would be so awesome! Thanks again Pat! I look forward every week to this podcast! Keep on making some one of a kind shows!

How to Protect Your Photography from Screenshot Theft with Carl Bott
Q: Tell us about Snapshield and what it does.
SnapShield provides two main protections: a blackout feature that prevents screenshots and a blur option that only partially reveals the image while still letting the viewer request access; it also includes consent boxes and an evidentiary reporting workflow to document when screenshots occur and who was involved.
Why Photographers Burn Out (And How to Fix It) with Rich Johnson
Q: How do you handle requests for free work, and when is it appropriate?
Free work can be acceptable on your terms, invoicing at full value first to establish what the service is worth, then discounting or writing off as agreed; this preserves relationships and clarifies value upfront.
Why Photographers Burn Out (And How to Fix It) with Rich Johnson
Q: What should photographers do to stay connected and learn more about Creative R&D after the episode?
Audience can follow Rich on Instagram at Spectacle Photo and explore his Photo Vision class on his website to continue learning and applying Creative R&D principles.
Why Photographers Burn Out (And How to Fix It) with Rich Johnson
Q: Is Creative R&D transferable if a project doesn't work out or is not client-facing right away?
Yes. Even failed experiments teach lessons that can be applied later, either improving techniques or informing how to approach clients with new methods; honesty with clients about learnings is key.
Why Photographers Burn Out (And How to Fix It) with Rich Johnson
Q: How often should photographers engage in Creative R&D to keep their work fresh without derailing paid assignments?
Rich recommends a quarterly Creative R&D project for the studio, with ongoing note-taking and planning for future experiments; there should also be a separate monthly/documented cadence to maintain momentum without blocking paid work.
