  • Great for photographers, photo lovers and artists in general

I just listened to the episode with Andrew Moore, one of many interviews I've enjoyed.

Some photography podcasts are technical, focused on cameras and equipment, and this will go there sometimes, but it is much more about the soul of photography. Which is probably our own souls. Passionate artists talk about their art in a way all can enjoy, and with stories from around the world that expand your field of vision.

  • Wonderful Conversation with Joel Meyerowitz

Ibarionex, episode 615 was amazing, for two fundamental reasons in my mind. First Joel is such an interesting and thoughtful individual. He so openly shares his thought processes about making pictures and prints! It was very interesting to hear such candid information from such an experienced and acclaimed photographer. Secondly, you did a great job of asking questions which directed Joel to those areas of conversation which got to the heart of photography and decision making every photograp... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

TCF Ep. 663 - Bill Wishner
Q: What motivated you to start f8 Pasadena Salon and Pasadena Photography Arts?
A desire to move conversations away from equipment toward the aesthetics and narratives of photography, plus creating ongoing educational spaces where photographers could discuss process, projects, and ideas rather than just gear.
TCF Ep. 663 - Bill Wishner
Q: How did you learn to see beyond the obvious in your urban wall work?
By focusing on parts of walls rather than the entire surface, looking for juxtaposed fragments that tell a new story, and recognizing the ephemeral nature of walls as a way to capture a moment of collaboration among anonymous contributors.
TCF Ep. 663 - Bill Wishner
Q: Tell me about your professional career and how you found a creative outlet through photography.
I began with painting and sculpture, but photography clicked for me in a jazz club, where I learned the craft from peers and mentors; I gradually shifted from performing to creating, while building communities that could teach and sustain the art form.
TCF Ep. 661 - Shivam Pandey
Q: What's your philosophy on capturing people in India, and how do you advise others to approach it?
Lead with connection, not just the image; spend real time with people, speak softly, use gestures like compliments, and let the scene reveal itself rather than forcing a shot.
TCF Ep. 661 - Shivam Pandey
Q: Tell me about your upbringing and where you grew up.
I was born in Varansi and moved to Kolkata at age 12 for better educational opportunities; this early multicultural exposure shaped my approach to photography, emphasizing cultural nuance and human connection.
