  • Don’t waste your time A rage-baiting dumbo. Good topics - then low quality and uniformed commentary

This host has no backbone. He either doesn’t know facts or is biased or doesn’t care if people come on his program and just promulgates falsehoods. How do some people keep their jobs?!

  • Thank you

Every morning I tune in while running and at the gym.

You keep me entertained although my friends get sick of me saying “Did you hear”

Because of something I had heard from your show.

Longer national days please with Dale. He’s self deprecating and very funny.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What is disadvantage in Australia?
Q: What does social exclusion encompass beyond pure income figures?
Social exclusion tracks actual outcomes across seven to eight dimensions (income, employment, education, health, personal safety, housing, and more); a person is considered socially excluded if they miss out on at least seven of these indicators, indicating a complex combination of factors behind economic hardship.
What is disadvantage in Australia?
Q: Starting off with income poverty, can you tell us about this category and how it's measured?
Income poverty is assessed against a poverty line such as the Henderson Poverty Line from the 1960s, but most analyses now use the median income adjusted for household size; people below about half the median are considered in income poverty, with recent updates showing around 12.5-13% of the population in income poverty.
Treasury of Common Sense with Leith Van Onselen - May 28th
Q: What's peaked your interest this week, mate?
Leith highlights that mortgage holders face a likely hold in rates for June, driven by inflation staying within expectations and a stronger than anticipated unemployment uptick, which tempers expectations for further aggressive hikes at the moment.
What is Evolvable AI?
Q: What stop-gaps exist to prevent AI from evolving in the wrong direction?
Currently, there is not enough focus on robust safety measures; the discussion emphasizes the need for better alignment, governance, and perhaps ecological-style controls to manage AI evolution.
What is Evolvable AI?
Q: With the evolution of AI, are we on the right side or the wrong side of history with this one?
The guest suggests we can't say definitively, and the outcome will likely be mixed—some aspects may improve while others could be worse, depending on how we manage AI evolution.
